Running to represent Litchfield, Monmouth, Wales,
in District 56

About Robin

I’m running for the Maine House because I’ve lived the same reality a lot of people in this district are facing—and I’m tired of watching decisions get made without us at the center of them.

I’ve built my life here over more than four decades. My husband and I chose Litchfield because it felt like home, and it’s where we raised our family, built relationships, and became part of a community where people still know and look out for each other. I grew up in a very different situation—raised by a single mother, helping care for my younger siblings, and learning early what it means to stretch every dollar and step up when your family needs you. That stays with you. It shapes how you see the world and who you fight for.

My working life hasn’t been easy or predictable. After an early cancer diagnosis, I made job decisions based on one thing: access to healthcare. I took lower-paying jobs just to make sure I could get coverage. We lived paycheck to paycheck, through recessions and hard times, doing whatever it took to get by. It wasn’t until I joined my union that I found some stability. I’ve seen firsthand what can happen when people come together to stand up for better wages, safer workplaces, and basic fairness. I’ve sat at the table, organized workers, negotiated contracts, and helped people fight for what they deserve. That experience is exactly why I’m running.

Too many people in this district are working hard and still falling behind. Property taxes keep rising, energy costs are squeezing families, and seniors are struggling to stay in their homes and get to medical appointments. At the same time, I see a lack of real engagement from leadership—no meaningful outreach, and no consistent effort to hear directly from the people they represent. That’s not how this should work.

I believe in a simple idea: everyone’s work has value, and everyone deserves a fair shot. That means wages you can live on, healthcare you can afford, and an education system that gives every kid real opportunity. It means a tax system that’s fair and actually funds the services our communities rely on. It means recognizing that families today are under more pressure than ever and doing something about it. I’m running to be a voice for people who feel like they’ve been overlooked: working families, retirees, caregivers, and anyone who’s been told to just get by while costs keep going up.

What Matters Most

Fair Wages & Workers’ Rights

I’ve spent my career organizing workers and negotiating for better pay and safer conditions. I know what it takes to move the needle, and I believe no one working full-time should struggle to afford the basics. I’ll fight for wages people can actually live on and for the right of workers to have a real voice on the job.

Support for Seniors & Aging in Place

Too many seniors are struggling to stay in their homes and get to medical appointments. I’ll push for reliable transportation options and policies that help older Mainers live with dignity and independence in the communities they’ve built their lives in.

Energy Costs & Home Heating

Energy costs keep climbing, and in rural communities that hits hard. Many homes rely on wood now, but that won’t always be an option as people age. We need practical solutions to keep heating affordable and predictable so families aren’t forced into impossible choices.

Government Accountability & Representation

People deserve to be heard by their elected officials. I’ll show up, hold town halls, return calls, and make sure constituents have a real voice in Augusta. Representation shouldn’t be a one-way conversation.

Education Funding & Opportunity

I believe education should open doors, not create debt. That means fully funding our schools and making education accessible from early childhood through community college. Every kid deserves the chance to succeed, no matter their background.

Childcare, Healthcare & Family Stability

Families today are stretched thin, and childcare costs are a big part of that. I support expanding access to affordable childcare and paid family leave so parents don’t have to choose between their job and their family. I’ve made job decisions based on whether I could get health insurance. I’ll work to lower costs and make sure people can get the care they need without risking their financial stability.
